Talk Through a Case Before You Write the Order
A short call with the EBAS team to review a specific disciplinary case, talk through assessment selection, and confirm the order language before it goes out.
Built for Boards Working Through a Specific Case
The pre-order consultation is for boards that have a case in front of them and want a second set of eyes before the order goes out. Common reasons boards schedule:
- A new case type the board has not handled with EBAS before. When the alleged violation or disciplinary action falls outside the board's usual referrals, a short conversation can save a longer back-and-forth later.
- A new staff member writing the order. Turnover happens. A consultation gets a new investigator or compliance officer up to speed on EBAS-specific order conventions without making them learn from a misstep.
- Multiple violations that complicate category selection. When a case touches more than one category, the right combination is not always obvious. The consultation walks through the trade-offs.
- A complex or high-stakes case. Getting the assessment structure right at the order stage matters more than usual.
A Thirty-Minute Working Conversation
Step 1: Share the case context.
Before the call, send a short description of the case. EBAS will review it ahead of the conversation so the time on the call is spent on decisions, not background.
Step 2: Talk through category selection.
On the call, the EBAS team walks through which categories fit the case, how many assessments to assign, and what completion window to set. The conversation is collaborative, not prescriptive. Boards make the final call.
Step 3: Confirm the order language.
The call ends with confirmed order language the board can adapt to its order format. EBAS follows up in writing within one business day.
Two Things Before the Call
Boards get the most out of the consultation when they come with:
A short summary of the case. The violation, the profession, and any context that shapes the disciplinary approach. A few sentences is enough.
Any draft order language already in progress. If the order is partially written, bring it. The consultation is more useful as an edit than as a starting point.
Book a Consultation
Pre-order consultations are scheduled in thirty-minute blocks. Most cases need a single call. Boards working through more complex cases can schedule additional time.
Talk to Us About Your Case
Boards exploring EBAS for the first time can use a pre-order consultation as an entry point. There is no obligation to engage EBAS for the assessment after the call. If the conversation confirms EBAS is the right fit, the EBAS team can walk through next steps for setting up an account and processing the order.
